President Museveni has for several years donated vehicles to religious leaders to enable them ease their pastoral work. However a section of the public say that the donations are meant to compromise the religious leaders.
Katumba says that if Christians are against the donations from the President, then they should purchase the vechicles for the religious leaders.
In his thanksgiving service at St Paul's Cathedral at Kako in Masaka district, Bishop Katumba observed that some of his accomplishments in the two years have been reaching out to all the 111 parishes making up the diocese, uplifting education standards of Church Founded schools in the area, mobilizing Christians into farming among other interventions.
Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, the Reverend Nathan Ahimbisibwe who was the main preacher challenged the leaders to always perform their responsibilities with valid visions and accept to retire whenever their time has come.
In his message delivered through the Agriculture Minister Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni appealed to religious leaders to intercede for peace and preach for tolerance among their followers to enable the country to overcome the challenges ahead as well rigorously participating in poverty alleviation schemes.
