FUFA Appoint Jonathan Mckinstry As New Cranes Coach

Northern Ireland’s 34 year old Jonathan Mckinstry has been appointed as the new Uganda cranes coach. ”Allow me to inform you that the FUFA executive chose Jonathan Mckinstry as the new Cranes coach on a three year contract, starting October 1, 2019,” FUFA CEO Edgar Watson told the media on Monday morning at FUFA House in Mengo. Mckinstry has coached in several countries, Northern Ireland, USA, England, Lithuania, Sierra Leone and Rwanda and also has some prowess in youth developments after having roles with Craig Bellamy Foundation, Newcastle United and New York red bulls. His first professional stint started in 2013 when he was appointed as Sierra Leone manager and later moved on to coach Rwanda whom he guided to the final of the 2015 CECAFA Cup. Mckinstry later moved on to Bangladesh where he given the role to coach premier league side Saif SC where he set a new club record for most points,most wins and most goals scored in a league season which saw him be rewarded a new contract but he has decided to move on to a new challenge in his coaching career which will see him kickoff his reign on the 1st of October 2019.
