Wakiso Giants blip in the campaign continued with a 1-1 home draw against Light SS at Bugembe on Sunday. The hosts came into the game on the back of a defeat to UPDF, their first in the campaign, and were expected to make light work of the visitors. However, they were wasteful with Geoffrey Luutu the chief culprit in the first half as he headed over the bar with the net at his mercy before he squandered another opportunity inside the area when he hesitated to shoot at goal. Yasin Mugabi was called into action at the other end before he walked off injured towards half time with Cleo Settuba taking his place. The second half was livelier as Daniel Otim put the visitors in the lead from a free kick in the 57th minute but Abdul Karim Kasule, a substitute for Daff Luboobi equalised three minutes later. Light SS had a chance to restore lead but saw an attempt from Isaac Odeke miss target despite beating the goalie. Wakiso Giants could have won it but Kasule, Kiweewa and Karim Ndugwa missed opportunities as the game ended 1-1 by the time FIFA referee Mashood Ssali blew the final whistle. The Purple Sharks are now four points clear at the summit with 34 points and are six points away from earning promotion with three games left.
