Uganda will face an uphill task in their opening game against Canada as the 2017 International Cricket Board (ICC) World Cricket League Division 3 starts this morning.

Skippered by Davis Arinaitwe Karashani, the Uganda Cricket Cranes will start their campaign at the Lugogo Oval, while Malaysia take on Singapore at the Kyambogo Oval, while USA battle Oman at the Entebbe Oval.

The best two teams will qualify for slots in Division 2 and also make it to the next round of the 2019 World Cup qualifiers.

But the experience of long serving Frank Nsubuga, Karashani and Arthur Kyobe will play a pivotal role for the home side as they hope to make the fans happy.

The Canadians also have two Caribbean Premier League T20 players in it's ranks in Hamza Tariq and Nikhil Dutta. Former Uganda Cricket Cranes player Henry Osinde is also one of the technical staff members of the Canada team.

Tomorrow, the Uganda team will travel to Entebbe to battle Singapore, on the same day Canada face Oman and Malaysia battle USA.
