About 90% of the practicing surveyors are non professionals.
This has been revealed by the Uganda Surveyors Association President Richard Maserejje during his appearance before the presidential commission of inquiry investigating land affairs.
Maserejje said that only 109 land surveyors are registered, which has impacted on the quality of services produced.
He also said 80% of district surveyors lack the required standards.
The surveyor's president called for review of the Surveyors Registration Law if sanity is to return in the sector.
A senior surveyor Ronald Ssengendo highlighted to the commission cases of land fraud in lands sector.
